Phoenix’s Largest Convention Event Ever Begins Tomorrow

Jehovah’s Witnesses Launch their Three-Day “Love Never Fails”! Convention at Chase Field

PHOENIX—August 8, 2019 — For the past 24 hours thousands of local volunteers have worked to transform Chase Field into a place of worship to accommodate the largest convention event ever to be held in Phoenix. Beginning tomorrow, August 9, Jehovah’s Witnesses kick-off their three-day international convention at Chase Field. Attendance is expected to top 40,000, including 5,000 international delegates from 41 countries.

For the past week these international visitors have toured various attractions around the state from the Grand Canyon National Park to Red Rock State Park in Sedona. On Friday the delegates will be at the ballpark and in their seats as the convention program begins at 9:20 am.

“This program and this theme are what people really need right now,” states Robert Hendriks, national spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “Dozens of videos are featured throughout the weekend and each one makes a powerful point about the importance of love. There’s really something for the whole family.”

The Friday program will address how love can help people surmount obstacles such as a troubled upbringing, chronic illness, or poverty. Saturday’s program will consider how Bible principles help husbands, wives, and children to show love for one another. Sunday’s program will include a public Bible discourse entitled, “True Love in a Hate-Filled World—Where?” that will address overcoming prejudice and hatred.

This convention is open to the public and runs through Sunday, August 11. Admission is free and no collections are taken. To schedule a visit or an interview, please contact Jason Hohl at 410-693-5086 or jhohl@jw.org.
